We have a requirement for a Phlebotomist position at our Healthcare facility in Bay City, MI.

Job Description:

Phlebotomist collects and prepares blood samples for laboratory testing. Enters collections of such specimens in lab information system. Assists medical technologists and/or pathologists in performing designated laboratory tests. Assists with maintaining laboratory equipment and records following established accreditation guidelines and quality control standards.

Salary: $28-30/hr

Phlebotomist Responsibilities:

• Uses skin puncture and venipuncture techniques to obtain blood samples.
• Follows defined process in obtaining samples including verifying patient information, labeling specimen vials, and matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Disposes of contaminated needles in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
• Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into appropriate system(s).
• Processes specimens according to established guidelines.
• Organizes blood-drawing trays, ensuring that all instruments are sterile and all needles, syringes, or related items are of first-time use.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Phlebotomist Job Requirements:

• 2+ Years of experience as Phlebotomist – Required
• Comfortable with all patient Populations – Required
